Onlangs schreef de website ThePerfectWedding een stukje over de bruiloft die ik afgelopen zomer met mijn partner (en tweede fotograaf) heb mogen fotograferen. Ik vond dit persoonlijk een van de meest memorabele bruiloften die ik ooit gefotografeerd heb. Niet alleen duurde deze bruiloft 2 dagen, ook kende ik de bruid al een paar jaar! Een ontzettend lieve en talentvolle vrouw, met wie ik mooie herinneringen heb.

Tweedaagse bruiloft in het Franse Cognac
De Britse Olivia en Ned trouwden op het karakteristieke Franse platteland
Bruidsfotografe Marit de la Vera is speciaal naar het Franse Cognac gereden voor de bruiloft van de Britse Olivia en Ned. Zij trouwden bij het huis van haar ouders op het Franse platteland. Het thema van de two day wedding was bijen, en dit was écht overal in doorgevoerd. Bruid Olivia droeg een prachtige gele jurk en de bridesmaids kregen allemaal een bijen ketting. So cute!
Bijen
De two day wedding van Olivia en Ned had niet zonder reden bijen als thema. Het gorgeous bruidspaar heeft elkaar namelijk leren kennen via de dating app Bumble Bee en zijn sindsdien onafscheidelijk. Olivia had op de eerste dag van de wedding een gele kanten jurk aan en op de tweede dag hadden alle bruidsmeisjes verschillende gele jurken aan. De mooie illustratie van een bij op de uitnodiging maakte het geheel helemaal af!
Family is everything
Olivia heeft een super sterke en warme band met haar ouders en broer. Voor fotografe Marit was het mega bijzonder om deze band op een mooie manier vast te leggen. Wat het nog mooier maakte was dat de ceremonie bij het huis van haar ouders was en dat zij hier met een taxi heen gereden werden. Niet zomaar een taxi, een echte oude Londense taxi van haar vader.

Two-day wedding in Cognac, France
The British Olivia and Ned married at the characteristic French countryside
Bridal photographer Marit de la Vera drove to the French village of Cognac especially for the wedding of British Olivia and Ned. The couple married at her parents’ house at the French countryside. The theme of the two day wedding was “bees”, and this theme was really reflected in everything. Bride Olivia wore a beautiful yellow dress and the bridesmaids all received a bee necklace. So cute!
Bees
The theme of the two day wedding of Olivia and Ned was not without reason. The gorgeous bridal couple got to know each other through the dating app “Bumble Bee” and the couple have been inseparable ever since. Olivia wore a yellow lace dress on the first day of the wedding and on the second day all bridesmaids wore yellow dresses. The beautiful illustration of a bee on the invitation made the theme complete!
Family is everything
Olivia has a very strong and warm bond with her parents and brother. It was very special for photographer Marit to capture this connection in a beautiful way. What made it even better was that the ceremony was at her parents’ house and that they were driven there by taxi. Not just any taxi, a real old London taxi from her father.
